This comprehensive three-day course covers a wide range of first aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with emergency situations with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way. In addition, this course will include any protocol
changes that may have arisen since their last training course.

Legalities, responsibilities and reporting • Control of bleeding • Poisoning • Asthma • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty • Shock (including Anaphylaxis) • Bandaging • Diabetes • Fractures and spinal injuries • Heart attacks • Choking • Stroke • Resuscitation and AED awareness • Head injuries • Eye injuries • Burns • Assessment of the situation • Sprains and strains • Chest injuries • Epilepsy

Emergency First Aid at work- 1 Day

FAA LEVEL 3/6 : 1-DAY TRAINING 
Where a workplace first aid risk assessment identifies a need for an Emergency First Aider in the Workplace, this one-day qualification meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982.


A range of subjects are covered including:- • Responsibilities and reporting • Resuscitation and AED awareness • Burns • Assessment of the situation • Anatomy • Choking • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty • Minor injuries • Epilepsy • Basic hygiene in First Aid • Bleeding control • Shock


 

Emergency Paediatric First Aid- 1 Day

The qualification is designed for learners with a responsibility for the care of children and babies and provides knowledge and skills to deal with a range of paediatric first aid conditions and incidents. The purpose of the qualification is for the learner to attain the knowledge and practical competence required to deal with a range of Paediatric First Aid situations.  

A range of subjects is covered including:- • Role of the Paediatric First Aider • Seizure • Primary survey • Choking • Resuscitation (CPR including the safe use of an AED) • Minor injuries • Wounds, bleeding and shock • Recovery position

Basic Life Support and the safe use of an AED 
(AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATOR) 

Heart and circulatory disease claims around 200,000 lives each year. Many could have been saved if a defibrillator was made available. Automated External Defibrillators (AED’s) are now becoming more common throughout a range of public and work places. A casualty’s survival rate will dramatically increase if an AED is available and if you have appropriately qualified personnel to use it. This very practical course will enable your learners to use the AED competently and with confidence. Not only does this course deal with the use of an AED but it also includes vital training in basic life support including resuscitation.

Duration A minimum of 4 contact hours in the classroom, consisting of practical and theoretical activities. Syllabus A range of subjects are covered including: • Responsibilities and reporting • Assessment of the situation • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty • Infection control • Resuscitation • AED functions • Defibrillation procedures • Safety measures

Basic Life Support

3-HOUR TRAINING COURSE: This 3-hour Basic Life Support awareness course is suitable for anyone looking to gain basic first aid knowledge and skills. It is particularly suitable for healthcare professionals for the purpose of Continual Professional Development (CPD).

A range of subjects is covered including:- • Arriving at the scene • Primary survey • Secondary assessment • Resuscitation Certification Although there is no formal assessment, the trainer will assess each individual throughout the course and issue a non-regulated certificate of achievement where the required level of attainment has been met. Numbers A maximum of 16 students can be accommodated on this course. No age limit on this course.

Annual First Aid Refresher Course 

Annual Refresher Course for First Aiders and Emergency First Aiders Although it is not mandatory, the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) strongly recommend that qualified First Aiders and Emergency First Aiders undertake an annual refresher course in order to keep their skills up-to-date and refreshed. This three hour annual refresher course has been designed to meet that requirement and will help First Aiders to maintain their skills and knowledge whilst also keeping up-to-date with any changes to protocols.

 Duration A minimum of 3 hours, consisting of theoretical and practical activities. Syllabus A range of subjects is covered including:- • Responsibilities • Communication skills • Primary survey • Top-to-toe survey • Secondary assessment • Action for vomit • Resuscitation • Chain of Survival • Wounds and bleeding • Bandaging • Hygiene Certification Although there is no formal assessment, the trainer will assess each individual throughout the course and issue a non-regulated certificate of achievement where the required level of attainment has been met. Numbers It is recommended that no more than 16 students attend this course. Age limit Students from the age of 14 can attend this course.
